John Yoder grew up in an active and full household, with one brother and seven sisters. On the family farm they raised calves and managed the family produce stand. During winter, it was woodworking in the furniture shop. His Amish lifestyle was one of hard work year-round. From gathering vegetables in season and serving customers to working the furniture shop in the winter, everyone helped each other and took turns around the farm and shop.
Custom woodworking in the shop added construction knowledge and skills to John’s resume, where quality mattered and customer service was valued. Learning the details of making kitchen cabinets, a variety of tables, and wooden spoons by the hundreds, custom orders and ethical business practices were always underway.
While his strong ethics and hard work remain, John says, “roofing is nearly opposite from how I grew up. Picking produce and working with family in the shop was very different from going into the cities or working on large commercial buildings. I have a great fondness for both but am really enjoying getting to know the variety of customers we are proud to serve.
After leaving the Amish, John went to work for a successful roofer in Montana for several years. When he was ready to return to Wisconsin he began working for a contractor handling all types of residential and commercial roofing. John eventually made the decision to start his own company.

When not on a roof John likes to play volleyball and spend time with his wife Susan and their growing family. They enjoy barbequing with friends or just a quiet drive down a country road to let go of the hustle and bustle of the day.
